We had a good number at the AGM l and it was a productive though fairly speedy meeting.

Under AOB Mr Chairman announced the introduction of a new competition, slightly less onerous than most as only 3 different flies are required instead of the usual 3 of each. The details are attached and I’ll send out a reminder in February.

Our own competition followed with Richard Bird advancing from taking the Bronze section last year to winning the Silver section this year – Congratulations Richard, is there no stopping the man!!?? Recent starter Tim Bennett won the Bronze section with what must be some of the first flies he’s ever tied. Well done Tim!

My own opinion is that the competition this year was a bit of a lessons learnt. The Coachman with slip wins set quite a task for beginners and I believe the committee will look a little closer at what is being set by HQ next year to ensure the flies fit into our program.
