John K-H & Peter W boat fished at Draycote on Friday. Starting in fog and nearing freezing temperature, there was zero or very light wind all day, and the afternoon was blue hazy sky. Each ended up with a ‘Baker’s dozen’ of rainbows, caught mainly on intermediate / slow sinking lines, fast and slow retrieves and damsels of various colours.
Other anglers did even better – one boat angler using fast sinking lines, roly-poly retrieves and boobies landed 39 fish; whilst one bank angler landed 43 fish on nymphs and diawl bachs. Much of the day was a flat calm and we could watch large rainbows swirling for emerging buzzers.
Do get in contact if you would like to join us reservoir boat fishing for a day – now is the time of year to go!
