Grayling Report December 5th 2020
The day dawned wet and cold and three Richard’s (B,E,L) assembled in the pullout. We were joined by a man whose name was not Richard. He offered some pathetic excuse about his mother not realising the significance of the naming memo if he wanted to join TVFDG. As it was cold day we let him join us.
The morning was tough - heavy showers and squalls but by lunch we all had fish with about 30 caught. The fish caught were a mixture of trout and grayling but most of grayling were small. Straight after lunch we had a fabulous rainbow and the bigger grayling started to feed. Richard B caught a significant number on dries as the fish were freely rising across the river.
We ended the day with over 60 fish and some nice mid sized grayling. Disco shrimp and purple beaded nymphs worked well.
Thanks to Sean for organising the day.
